Greetings from the Lebe Stark team!

We’re passionate about kettlebell training and coaching.

Despite being kettlebell novices ourselves not long ago, we’ve put in the effort to become experts.

We used to focus on traditional bodybuilding-style training in the gym and wondered why we felt so unfit.

However, after becoming certified by Steve Cotter in 2019, we realized the power of kettlebell training and haven’t looked back since.

The journey wasn’t easy though and I’ll make sure to tell you if you have a couple of minutes.

I promise it will be worth it since you might have experienced a similar situation as I have. 

It All Started In February 2019

I have a vivid memory of the first time I picked up a 20 kg kettlebell as I was preparing for Steve Cotter’s IKFF certifications. I was immediately scared of it! How was I supposed to hoist two of those things 40 times? And then snatch one of them for 100 reps? All without putting them down?!

But let me backtrack a little. It all started in February 2019 when I settled the deal with Steve Cotter to fly him into my studio in Switzerland for private coaching to get certified. I was thrilled that the master was coming to visit us, and there was no turning back now.

As I researched the fitness tests for both certificates of Steve Cotter’s IKFF, I approached the 20 kg kettlebell. As a younger, bodybuilding-type trainer, I was shocked to find that even the 16 kg kettlebell was giving me a hard time trying to snatch it several times overhead. It destroyed my forearm, chafed off my palm skin, and left me in pain.

In my despair, I wrote Steve an email saying that I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it.

Looking back on that experience, I realize that it was a pivotal moment that transformed me from a kettlebell noob to the expert I am today.

Fast Forward To Certification Day In June 2019

Let me share a personal experience that I will never forget. It was the day of Steve Cotter’s IKFF certification, and I was getting ready to take on the 20 kg kettlebell for the first time. 

Even the 16 kg was giving me a hard time trying to snatch it several times overhead.

As a younger Split-Training-Bodybuilding-Type, I was shocked to find out that I was struggling with such a seemingly small weight.

But I kept training and refining my technique, and eventually, Angie and I managed to pull off the CKT1 test.

However, the big one was still in front of me.

40 Jerks and 100 Snatches with a 20 kg kettlebell, a solid Russian BIATHLON, and I was still scared whether I was able to pull it off.

When the time came, I went in second because Angie passed her test before me.

I was nervous but ready to face the challenge.

Everything was going according to plan until the 36th rep, where I briefly lost balance and Steve shouted “no count!”.

I felt like giving up, but Angie’s motivating screams and Steve’s input to “fast legs” gave me the second wind to reach the 40th rep.

During the 100-rep snatch test with the 20kg kettlebell, I suffered several cuts and wounds that I called “battle scars” back then.

But thanks to the adrenaline, I didn’t feel the pain until after the set was done.

Looking back, it was a challenging but rewarding experience that has taught me the importance of perseverance and dedication.

Fast Forward To Today

It’s hard to believe that our YouTube channel is now viewed by millions, and we’ve been able to share our passion for kettlebell training with hundreds of clients around the world.

None of this would have been possible without the guidance of my mentor Steve. 

Not only has my physical fitness never been better, but I’m also leaner and healthier on a consistent basis.

The feeling of empowerment that comes from being confident, strong, and fit is truly indescribable. It’s opened up new doors for me, and I feel like I’m in better shape now than I was 10 years ago.

The journey that led me to this point wasn’t easy, but it was worth it.
